Television viewers usually cannot complain about the music that is performed in Sesame Street. Since the start of the program in 1976, there is plenty to enjoy for young and old. The songs have just the right formula: accessible to the little ones, but not overly childish. Some of the music comes from the motherland of the United States, but many songs are made in the Netherlands. In the eighties

Making songs for children's television is, on the one hand, an honorable task. Generations will grow up with your music and happily sing it along for a lifetime. On the other hand, a lot of work is only broadcast a few times and then disappears in the archives. Only a fraction finds its way to a compilation album. The chock-full Met De Kop In De Wolken is therefore a relief; 33 songs in which Vrienten shows his craftsmanship, in collaboration with a club of fantastic lyricists and (voice) actors. To single out one song is pointless, this is a big party! (JE)more
