With her first two albums, Adele Adkins managed to work her way up to the top singer of 2011. Unfortunately that year was also characterized by voice problems, which meant she had to cancel several performances. This live DVD is a godsend for disappointed fans. Adele has an excellent voice during this concert, thanks to the mug of honey tea that she carries close to her throughout the concert. The
… beautiful nineteenth-century theater, the beautiful light show, the frenzied audience: it suits a singer of her stature. The great thing is that Adele knows how to put that into perspective. Already after the first song she admits how happy she is to be in the 'Royal Albert fucking Hall'. After each song she speaks to the audience in her flat Cockney accent, but as soon as she sings she's the true diva again. This DVD shows a singer at her (temporary) peak. Highly recommended to those who enjoyed Adele's first two albums. (PdK)more
