DVD reissue of the concert film Under A Blood Red Sky, originally released in 1983. At the time, a self-titled LP was also released, and the live single Sunday Bloody Sunday, drawn from this album, became one of the biggest hits of the Irish band. The original concert took place on June 3, 1983 at a beautiful venue - the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, Colorado. From the first beat, U2 is in top
… form, perhaps inspired by the special ambiance. The audience is dressed in raincoats but does not seem to be bothered by the bad weather. How is that possible, when music history is written right in front of you. Even 25 years later, Under A Blood Red Sky still appeals to the imagination; it perfectly portrays the definitive breakthrough of the most important rock band of the eighties and nineties. The hairstyles and tight pants of Bono and his men may seem a bit dated now, but the music has stood the test of time well. We are happy to accept that the sharpness of the image leaves something to be desired by current standards. (MS)more
