If you listen to Fluid Motion, the third album of 30 70, you would think that the band grew up in London. The current club sound with neo-soul as main ingredients, influences from spiritual jazz, broken beat and dub are abundantly present in their music. However, nothing could be further from the truth, because the band is from Melbourne. Their first two records Cold Radish Coma (2015) and Elevate
… (2017) were rave about by critics, audiences and DJs like Gilles Peterson, which of course generated much-needed publicity. A major role is played by the very special voice of Allysha Joy, who is clearly influenced by . The one time this comes out as very soulful, the other time to the point of affection.
