Five of the thirteen songs for the album Book Of Many were commissioned by GoneWest, an event in memory of the First World War. The music had to advertise hope, focus on the end of the war and also reflect on the present. Gregory Frateur agreed with this and added themes such as gender, guilt and loss. The times when Dez Mona was still a jazz duo are now in the past. The group around Frateur gradually
… formed into an alternative rock group. True predecessor still raw and sounded uptempo, Book Of Many is an album full of melancholic music. With accordion, piano and warm guitar playing, sound is given to the moody themes. Frateur's melancholic vocals complete it. However, there is always room for a light in the darkness, which creates beautiful contrasts on this album. (JvQ)more
