You can say a lot about Nelly Furtado's sixth album, but not that it is a boring ride. One full of bumps and bumps. Most of the songs on The Ride are so packed with ideas, breaks and beats, that listening degenerates into a war of exhaustion. This may be the influence of the American producer . A shame, because with the last three songs the Canadian proves how it could have been done differently. Tap Dancing is a beautiful ballad without frills, Right Road a nice electropop tune and closing track Phoenix - the first song that Furtado wrote for The Ride - is actually reminiscent of her best: All Good Things (Come To An End).
