25 years after the death of singer Queen is still popular. Archival releases from the British quartet are still selling well. There is also plenty in the safe, because the rockers worked very hard between 1970 and 1991. Especially at the start of their career. This is proven by On Air, a collector with radio sessions for the BBC. Five of the six sessions are from 1973-1974, when the band released
… its first three albums. The group also performed more than 100 times during that period. Again and again with the same songs, because there was not that much in the repertoire. This release also contains quite a few double versions that hardly differ from each other. Yet On Air does have something interesting to offer. Queen could be less generous on the radio. There was no time to record the vocals and guitars multiple times. The sound is therefore a lot less bombastic than on studio albums. Also fun! (JE)more
