Another striking parallel: the Canadians also have two wives and a married couple in their ranks, although Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas are still together. It is their atmospheric songs and harmony vocals that make The Besnard Lakes special, with influences ranging from seventies (prog) rock and psychedelics to contemporary indie and shoegaze. In songs like Golden Lion and Towers Sent Her To Sheets Of Sound (yes, they like to work on their titles) it all comes together beautifully. Pretty unique band this. (RME)more
