With his 'liquid dance' Dan Snaith manages to get quite a few people to dance. His electro project Caribou is booked at dance and pop festivals worldwide and guarantees a well-stocked meadow in 2014. And that while his 'liquid dance music' says he just ripples on a bit more. Also on Our Love, the sixth album by Caribou, there are few exciting passages to be found. The producer's strength lies in
… choosing the right sounds and samples that he expertly spreads together. The pace is usually slow, but Caribou is by no means calming. While the basses and beats drag on to the end of the track, left and right of everything happens with cut up voices and extra synths. When halfway through Our Love also Jessy Lanza comes to sing the beautiful song Second Chance, you completely understand why all those people want to watch Caribou live. This is very smart pop music! It's not for chilling, it's not for dancing, but Snaith's liquid dance is very catchy. (JE)more
