During concerts of his group Vaudou Game, Peter Solo always pauses the rousing show to tell something about vaudou, the religious tradition with which he grew up in Togo. Vaudou is better known in the West as 'voodoo' and has an image of superstition and witchcraft. Solo thinks that it is unjustified because, as he tells his audience: 'vaudou is love'. In France he found eight local musicians with whom he could realize his vision. The result is a steaming afro-rock record. Searing horns, funky guitar licks and a ferociously coughing Hammond organ provide the ideal accompaniment to Peter Solo's soulful voice.
