Silver Linings contains a live CD in addition to a studio album. That is apparently important for the Fleming because he has already released two live albums. It makes the songs more engaging and predictable than necessary. The marketing slogan 'less is more' is evidenced by the strongest song on the record: Blue Skies. Milow is venturing into a jazz standard, a song that has been performed by everyone from Benny Goodman to Willie Nelson since 1926. The result is astonishing. A guitar, a voice and a wonderful melodica solo: Milow does not need more to give the listener goosebumps. It is a highlight on a standard Milow album, of which we now know what that means: light melancholic lyrics without too much depth and fine melodies that the singer sings straight into your memory with his beautiful voice, with that little crack in it.
