With The Future Is Yours, Kraak & Smaak scored a big Ibiza house hit in the summer of 2013 with the help of singer Ben Westbeech. Single Good For The City with the vocals of Sam Duckworth (Get Cape Wear Cape Fly) seems to be heading in the same direction, only there are some slight traces of the funky background of K&S. Yet Chrome Waves, the album that contains both songs, has definitely
… not become a house record. The trio is too versatile for that. Here they also gratefully draw on the funk, disco and electro past, but of course edited in their own way. It seems as if the gentlemen have really taken into account the abilities of their guest vocalists and wrote songs that suit them perfectly. In addition to the names mentioned, Janne Schra, John Turrell and Berenice (Wicked Jazz Sounds) can be found on Chrome Waves. This results in a quite varied album with the electronics of K&S as a connecting thread. (AD)more
