The fact that people have walked around on the moon is fascinating. Especially since no one has set foot on the celestial body since 1972 and it is not expected that this will ever happen again. Singer / songwriter James Blunt uses this idea on his fourth CD as a metaphor for other impressive events that will not occur again, such as a first childhood sweetheart for example. A good find that fits
… perfectly with the romantic songs of the British singer. The title does clash with his music on this album, because Blunt did not want to be technically advanced or innovative. Moon Landing is 'back to basics' after (2010) that showed a different side of Blunt. His signature songs are back on Moon Landing. Introverted and melancholic until the moment when strings or rocking guitars push his characteristic voice full of pathos to the finish line. That's how we prefer to hear Blunt, although Moon Landing is more like the fastest way from work to home than an alien adventure. (JE)more
