International stars are lining up to collaborate with pianist and television presenter Jools Holland and his impressive Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. It is therefore no surprise that The Golden Age Of Song has an impressive list of artists. The collaboration with Paolo Nutini, who convincingly portrays Lovin 'Machine, as well as the romantic Get Here, in which the golden straw of Jessie J comes out
… beautifully, has been successful. Most impressive, however, is the emotional Don't Go To Strangers in which Paul Weller lends a helping hand to a distraught Amy Winehouse. Our own Caro Emerald also impresses with the beautiful Mad About The Boy that was written by Sir Noel Coward in 1932 and then covered by a large number of artists. The Golden Age Of Song has become a very successful project, partly thanks to the presence of all musical greats. But the credits mainly go to Jools Holland, who perfectly put down the old hits and also managed to find the right artist of the 21st century. (BvdV)more
