The four members of Drive Like Maria were each born in a different country, but they found each other in their love for classic rock, leather jackets and the band feeling of playing many shows and always being on the go. Exactly the life they sing about in their song On The Road. They compensate for the lack of originality with a great work ethic, which has already brought them to America and Italy,
… because this is where this album was recorded. This self-titled second CD continues where their successful debut album Elmwood left off. The galloping, pounding stoner rock in Black Horses is still in line with their debut, but the beautiful Howl (with a guest role for the unknown but excellent singer Lara Chedraoui) adds a nice flavor to their rocking cocktail. Drive Like Maria does not avoid the clichés, but with this CD still has a solid record to storm the stages with. (PdK)more
