Master guitarist Jan Akkerman is already ready for his umpteenth solo album. Fourteen instrumentals with influences from all over the world. Themes reminiscent of John Scofield's licks and Stevie Wonder-like chord progressions predominate. Eric Vloeimans, the jazz trumpet player, has been hired to spice up two tracks, and he does that again as we are used to from him. The album has been recorded
… entirely over the internet. All band members recorded their parts at a different location. Those parts were then combined again during the mixing. The end result is described by Akkerman as one of the most difficult things he has ever done. After all, he is not only the guitarist and composer, but also the producer and sound engineer. And that can be heard. (SI)more
