For Norwegian singer Sivert Höyem, making solo albums seemed to be a playful excursion. In his solo work he was mainly able to express his love for singer / songwriters and country, which was almost at odds with Madrugada's heavier and more rock-based work. However, that band came to a cruel end with the death of guitarist Robert Burås, which has now turned Höyem into a full-time solo artist. So
… he has to say more on his third album than on previous solo work. Moon Landing is mainly filled with catchy rock songs with bluesy and folky undertones. Partly due to a flat production, he does not always manage to rise above a certain mediocrity. On Moon Landing, Höyem seems a bit confused and worried about where to go with his forced solo career. Madrugada is audibly missed. Fortunately, his mighty bronze voice remains a feast for the ear. (MR)more
