We met Kesha in the summer of 2009 on rapper Flo Rida's hit single Right Round. She reportedly did not receive any payment for her work and declined to appear in the video for the song. Still, we don't have to feel sorry for Kesha, because things are going well for her now too. … scored a number 1 hit in America with Tik Tok and her debut album Animal has already topped the Billboard album chart. It is expected that the album will also do well in the Netherlands. Animal is filled with rousing beats, very dry synthesizers and melodies that you can sing along right away. Nice detail is that Kesha's mother Pebe, herself a professional songwriter, co-wrote a few songs. The album will never be timeless, because the production is very fixated on the popular tricks of the last few years. It remains to be seen whether Kesha can develop her own sound, but this is a good start. (JE)more
