The London band Mumford & Sons clearly harks back to the folk rock of the sixties. And just like in those years, there seems to be a fruitful cross-fertilization between the two Anglo-Saxon scenes on either side of the Atlantic Ocean. At the same time, the songs of Mumford & Sons exude a distinctly Celtic atmosphere, emphasized by the Victorian jackets in which the band members like to wrap themselves. By combining the atmosphere of typical British folk with the energy of indie rock, an irresistible sound was created. It is therefore not surprising that this debut has been well received worldwide.
