Nelly Furtado's studio album Loose was such a huge success - no fewer than four songs made it to the top of the international charts - that she wondered: what next? The versatile Canadian-Portuguese singer-songwriter does not like to repeat himself and is constantly looking for new challenges. After her theatrical image of sexy 'femme fatale' on the Timbaland-produced album Loose, she returns to
… her authentic self with her fourth studio album Mi Plan. This time she wraps up her personal outpourings about personal life issues in a completely Spanish-language jacket. On this album she worked with a team of various musicians and lyricists from the world of Latin music. Furtado, guitarist James Bryan and Cuban-Canadian singer-songwriter Alex Cuba wrote most of the eleven songs. Guest artists of Dominican, Mexican and Spanish descent also contributed: Alejandro Fernandez, Julieta Venegas, La Mala Rodriguez, Concha Buika, Josh Groban and Jean Luis Guerra. Mi Plan has therefore become a varied Latin album, full of genre cross pollinations and beautiful duets. (SvdP)more
