Nice to see how two generations of musicians from Drenthe have found each other. Harry Muskee has long regarded ex-Skik frontman Daniel Lohues as his nephew, and Lohues has now found his connection in Muskee close to home with the blues history that he thought he had to look for in the delta of the Mississippi with his Louisiana Blues Club. … two finally deliver a fully joint album. Lohues produced the record, co-wrote the compositions and played guitar, organ and harmonica. It is the first record to be released under the name of Muske's legendary band since Dancing Bear (1998). The input of Lohues provides some fresh impulses on an at times quite inspired album. For example, Muskee sings like a real soul singer in the high regions (I ' m In Your Corner), a jazz orchestra plays in Devil Made Religion and there is a real protest song (Baghdad Blues). (MS)more
