Stopping at your peak is not given to many bands and Krezip did not succeed either. But Jacqueline Govaert and her companions stop at least at a point when it is still fun. With the latest single Sweet Goodbyes, it seems to be possible at the last minute, which has been tried in vain for years: to deliver another evergreen like I Would Stay, the ballad with which the Tilburg student band broke
… through en masse in the summer of 2000. And so the Krezip success story is harmonious right up to the last moment. The band managed to resist the lures of fame without major conflicts or addictions and broke up in consultation. With the collector Best Of the band says a worthy goodbye to the fans. The overview contains less inevitable hits than was hoped in the beginning, but still enough memorable pop-rock to listen to later with a lot of nostalgia. (MS)more
