Although according to some Marillion never reached the same level again after the departure of singer Fish in 1988, the group is still a big name in the progrock genre. With the double album Happiness Is The Road, available on separate discs, the band delivers another old-fashioned ambitious album. Marillion never had to rely on overly technical musical feats. In essence it makes pop rock that is
… decorated with symphonic arrangements. This approach makes the band attractive to a wide audience. Melodic vocal lines, warm arrangements: especially the first CD offers all the elements that have allowed the band to create such a loyal following. On the second disc the band finds itself on some more adventurous prog paths with which they will especially please the supporters from the first hour. (MS)more
