If there is one singer who has a voice that seems tailor-made for Sky Radio, it is Paul Carrack. Carrack is the textbook example of the singer whose voice is also more famous than his name. He has sung songs from Squeeze and Mike & The Mechanics to the top of the charts in the past. As a solo artist, Carrack plays the white boy soul who dominated the charts in the eighties but which you don't
… hear very often these days. Where Carrack sometimes chose covers on previous albums, he now wrote most of the songs himself. An exception is his interpretation of Bobby Blands Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City with which the album opens. Even that excellent song cannot prevent the fact that I Know That Name mainly sounds safe and predictable and thus fits seamlessly with Carrack's previous albums. (PdK)more
