What a unique and exceptional event: three established Dutch pop celebrities who make a studio album together under the title 'Aardige Boys' and also perform together in a theater program of the same name. Frank Boeijen, Henny Vrienten (Doe Maar) and Henk Hofstede (Nits) had to coordinate the agendas well to make this long-cherished wish a reality. The skilled songwriters each created new songs,
… which they then worked out further with the three of them. The chemistry between the 'older young men' turned out to be so good that the music was created very easily, in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Apart from viola player Monique Lansdorp and drummer Mark Stoop, the men played all the instruments themselves. The atmosphere is therefore kept intimate and small. Boeijen, Hofstede and Vrienten recall in poetic terms memories of earlier times, of love, death and emotional turmoil. It has become a homogeneous album with twelve pearls of Dutch pop songs that invite you to listen repeatedly. (SvdP)more
