In 1999, Amsterdam based DJ Eddy de Clerq was rewarded for his musical efforts with the prestigious Gouden Harp, not only for his long career as a DJ, but also for the innovative role his club RoXY played in the Dutch dance scene. A year earlier he was appointed as 'musical director' for the Dutch fashion house Viktor & Rolf. Music For Catwalks provides an overview of the compositions he wrote
… for nearly ten years of Viktor & Rolf fashion shows. De Clerq was not limited by anything. The range of his sources of inspiration ran from North to South Pole, classical to lounge and jazz to house. Spoken word also plays a major role in his music, such as Les Monstres Sacrés, which he himself recorded in French. Many of the original compositions have been given a new look, so that this music is now also extremely enjoyable in the living room. (AD)more
