For the winners of the Grand Prix of the Netherlands, usually oblivion remains. How different is that with the Belgian equivalent, the Rockrally, which produced illustrious winners such as Das Pop, Evil Superstars, Noordkaap and Admiral Freebee. Each and every one of them grew into stars in their homeland. Mintzkov Luna (winner in 2000) also belongs in that list. With their debut album M For Means,
… L For Love (2003) they also managed to find a large audience in the Netherlands. Many pop festivals were honored with a visit. In 2007 the name was shortened to simply Mintzkov and the second album was released. The many playing has clearly paid off, Mintzkov presents itself on 360 ˚ as a relentlessly tight rocking band. Also as a band that unfortunately harkens a bit too predictably to the clichés of the indie rock of the nineties. What happened to that famous idiosyncrasy of Belgian bands? (MS)more
