With the collector Twentyfive, George Michael celebrates his 25th anniversary as an artist in 2006. That started in the eighties with the duo (along with Andrew Ridgeley), which retired after three successful albums. Michael's solo career turned out to be many times more successful. The emphasis on Twentyfive is therefore on his solo work: van Wham! only four songs were recorded, including of course
… the Christmas classic Last Christmas. The double CD is thematically divided into the discs For Living and For Loving. While For Living features the more danceable and uptempo songs (Faith, Too Funky, Freedom, Outside), For Loving features calmer tracks and ballads (Careless Whisper, Father Figutre, Jesus To A Child). There is also room for duets with , , and Former Sugababe . Although Michael has scored few hits since the previous compilation (1998), Twentyfive offers a complete overview of an impressive career.
