The Isley Brothers are indestructible. More than four decades after their foundation, the group, where in 2006 the brothers Ron (vocals) and Ernest (guitar) are in charge, is still part of the American R&B scene. Although they have since been surpassed in popularity by their successors, the brothers remain a factor to be reckoned with, as the hit Contagious, which they managed to score in 2001,
… proved. One of the loyal admirers is the popular singer R. Kelly, who also supports his idols on this album in the duet Blast Off, after having previously produced the come back album Eternal (2001). Even in the much-criticized culture of 'pimps and ho's', which many older soul stars oppose, Ron Isley feels visibly at home. This time too he uses the eleven very sweet songs of his alter ego, the pimp and mafia boss Mr. Biggs, and surrounds himself on the cover by scantily clad girls who could have been his granddaughters.
