At the beginning of the twentieth century, the tango could be heard in every Parisian salon. The melancholic music seems to thrive in a city with the same grandeur as its Latin American sister (Buenos Aires). Even grandmaster Astor Piazolla spent a few years of his life there. … Gotan Project added electronic drums and dub to the music that until then was only played by acoustic instruments. Their first album La Revanche Del Tango was a huge success and sold almost a million copies in Europe alone. Their second album LunĂ¡tico - named after the racing horse of tango singer Carlos Gardel - continues on the same path. A lot further even: the arrangements sound richer than on the debut album and there are guest appearances from Argentinian rappers Koxmoz and California's Calexico.
