Norwegian Maria Mena scored a considerable hit in 2004 with You're The Only One, from her CD White Turns Blue. However, she failed to continue the success of that single, and it soon became quiet around the young singer. Two years after White Turns Blue, the successor Apparently Unaffected is released, with which Mena can prove that she is not a one-day fly. This CD was also produced by Arvid Solvang,
… but this time Maria wrote all the songs (except one) herself. She knows how to find a good balance between more light-hearted, light-hearted songs and songs in which she goes into more depth and tackles personal topics. All this provided with an accessible pop-rock jacket, in which occasionally a cello or organ appears. Mena does not play any instrument herself. With Apparently Unaffected, Maria Mena shows once again that she is a talented songwriter and singer. (IV)more
