Whether Dutch-language R&B could gain any foothold, there may have been some doubts in 1998, when Re-Plays debut album was released. But when Op Eigen Benen comes out eight years later, there is no longer any doubt about this. … Eigen Benen was not chosen just like that: Re-Play broke with their record company and continued independently. This meant more artistic freedom for the four gentlemen - Mario Randwijk has replaced Mark Dakriet who left the group in 2003 - who now wrote all the songs themselves, and often produced them. The strong vocals of the four still remain, their greatest asset. Whether it's up-tempo songs, that are remarkably well represented, or sultry ballads, Re-Play excels at singing beautifully. (IV)more
