The men at Normal don't like waste. A CD contains space for eighty minutes of music, so why would you put less on it? This live album contains no less than seventeen songs, from the opener Hummelo to the inevitable bouncer Oerend Hard, which is good for over 72 minutes of høken. What makes this recording special is that Normal takes office in the original line-up, with which she broke through in
… the second half of the seventies (Bennie 'Buizend Beernd' Jolink, Ferdi 'Frekie' Jolij, Willem 'Wimken' Terhorst and 'Brekken' Jan Manschot ). Normal's infamous live reputation makes you expect the best, but the uncluttered, messy result is a bit disappointing in the end. The text of the CD booklet shows why. According to Bennie Jolink, the gentlemen did not think it necessary to rehearse first, after all, they had already done enough in the period 1975-1978. A missed opportunity, so this mediocre concert registration ultimately only has a (pop) historical value. (MS)more
