When it comes to the American band Low, the joke is often made that the first letter of the band name has been dropped. According to these jokers 'Slow' would be a better name, because it would best describe their music. The trio from Duluth, Minnesota started as a slo-core band around 1994, in response to the grunge music that came from Seattle at the time. Slo-core music is characterized by calm,
… long drawn-out songs that can have a hypnotic effect due to the floaty vocals and the long, minimalist instrumental passages. The core of Low is formed by the Mormon couple Alan Sparhawk (vocals / guitar) and his wife Mimi Parker (vocals / drums). This prolific couple has already released five full CDs, but in addition there were also many hard-to-obtain mini-CDs, split albums (collaboration projects) and even a real Christmas (!) CD. Trust is number six and the follow-up to the well-received Things We Lost In The Fire (2001). The band continues to develop with every new album and partly because of this they are becoming more and more popular in cult circles. The most important change on Trust is the choice of the new producer. Tchad Blake was chosen, who previously collaborated with Tom Waits, Bonnie Raitt, Los Lobos and Pearl Jam, among others. Partly thanks to him, Low's music not only sounds more varied but also less 'slow' and therefore more accessible than ever. (MvP) The most important change on Trust is the choice of the new producer.
