The American hard rock band Bon Jovi was founded in 1983 by five friends from New Jersey. The breakthrough came in 1986 with the album Slippery When Wet and the singles Livin 'On A Prayer and You Give Love A Bad Name. Since then, Bon Jovi has been a mega act that has always stayed at the top. Their golden formula consists of commercial, radio-friendly ballads and catchy, uptempo rock songs that you
… can't get out of your head after just one listen. Add to that the fact that lead singer Jon Bon Jovi looks good and has a great voice and the success has been declared. The previous studio album Crush (2000) sold more than eight million copies worldwide. The successor Bounce is largely made according to the same pattern. The album has a strong start with the first single Everyday and the bombastic Undivided, which musically is a copy of Livin 'On A Prayer. After this stormy start, the wind dies down halfway through the CD in fine ballads like All About Lovin 'You and Right Side Of Wrong. The title of the album (Bounce) refers to the resilience of the American people after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. With the motto 'life goes on' Bon Jovi has a CD on which they sound exactly the same as before the attacks. (MvP)more
