American Head Charge is a metal band from the North American city of Minneapolis. Before their debut CD The War Of Art was released in 2001, they had already performed with System Of A Down and Slipknot. They were also asked to participate in the annual rock spectacle Ozzfest. Their convincing performances led to a contract with producer Rick Rubin's quality label American Recordings. After these
… impressive references, it should be clear that this is an important newcomer. American Head Charge's music is a modern sounding variant of the so-called 'alternative metal.' This means: catchy songs with strong guitar riffs and a solid groove. In addition, they make extensive use of modern electronics such as samplers, guitar transformers and computers. They themselves admit to have been influenced by 'industrial' bands like Ministry and Nine Inch Nails. The CD booklet even states that one of the seven (!) Band members, Aaron Zilch, is responsible for the 'audio terrorism' in most of the songs. In summary, we can say that The War Of Art is a strong debut and a must for anyone with solid eardrums.
