It was quiet for several years around singer Francien van Tuinen, but with Daytrippers she is back again. Together with her group Tripod, consisting of saxophonist Jasper Blom, bassist Jeroen Vierdag and drummer Joost Patocka, she shows a special sound on this album. After all, it is not often that a chord instrument such as piano or guitar is missing from a vocal jazz album. However, Van Tuinen
… consciously chose this open line-up and uses it to show special arrangements. Especially the polyphonic lines of her singing with Blom's saxophone or (bass) clarinet are of a special beauty.
