… again and with that wish ended up with the young artist James Francies. The result is an album full of fireworks on which Potter and Francies appear to be very evenly matched. Both play powerfully and inspired, whereby the fine line between composition and improvisation is reinforced by free jazz drummer Eric Harland with his tight and unbridled playing. Where Potter is normally a solid, but also somewhat safe saxophonist, he now seems to dare more and to let himself go as part of a fantastic band. (MR)more
