… band is going to go wild here. Scofield and Medeski grind and growl abstractly against each other while DeJohnette and Grenadier keep a rhythmic tension going. It is a pity that the quartet then slows down and indulges in fairly obligatory jazz versions of songs by and . In Dirty Ground DeJohnette even shows herself to be a sluggish crooner. The most interesting part is the closing song Great Spirit Peace Chant in which almost the entire group ventures into spiritual choirs.
