After I'm All For You (2004) and Joyous Encounter (2005), this is the third harvest from the fruitful collaboration between master saxophonist Joe Lovano and piano legend Hank Jones. On previous CDs they were still supported by a bass player and a drummer, on this new album they play in duo line-up. The repertoire consists of own compositions, some standards and three pieces by Hank's brother Thad

Just about the entire jazz piano tradition is featured in Jones' playing. For example, he plays in Oh! Look At Me Now! stride piano, but with a wink. The very dry sound of Lovano's tenor blends wonderfully with Jones' piano playing. On this live recorded CD the gentlemen show that they can swing firmly without a rhythm section. (HB)more
