Once in a while everything falls into place. Past experiences are combined into a whole. For the Belgian keyboardist Marc Moulin, this moment comes with I Am You. His career fluctuates between jazz, based on Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock's fusion of the early 1970s, the electro he made with Telex, and his adventures in the ambient of the early 1990s. All this is forged into a smooth whole on I Am
… You. The ambient soundscapes return as an interpretation of moody, jazzy trip-hop, while the electro influences are more evident in the uptempo songs. Moulin makes extensive use of his Hammond B3 organ, adapting the accompanying sounds completely to this instrument, so that I Am You has become a very warm CD in the first place. (AD)more
