It seems that the band Niacin is not called that for nothing. The vitamin preparation Niacin is supposed to keep the body and mind vital. … the freedom, which gives jazz (rock) to try out other, less worn-out ways. In twelve of the thirteen songs on "Deep" there is a good balance between hard rock and the complexity of jazz. It is reminiscent of the music of John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra or Chick Corea's Return To Forever. The exception is the beautiful bluesy song "Things ain ' t like they used to be ', because this is unadulterated hard rock. (RM)more
