One of the great saxophonists of the post-Coltrane period is Michael Brecker. Tales from the Hudson, his new CD, contains eight tracks, five of which were written by himself. Willie T. was written by Don Grolnick, the light-hearted and somewhat lyrical Midnight Voyage by pianist Joey Calderazzo and Song for Bilbao by guitarist Pat Metheny. Very nice songs are also Beau Rivage and Naked soul. With the uptempo Cabin Fever this beautiful (and also excellently recorded) CD is concluded.more
