As the son of blues artist and club owner James Peterson, guitarist, organist and singer Lucky Peterson came into contact with the blues early on. At the age of five, Willie Dixon took him under his wing and Peterson appeared as a child star on The Ed Sullivan Show, among others. Blues continued to run through his life after that, although he also played the horn in a school orchestra in Buffallo,
… the city where he grew up. Today he lives in Dallas where he mainly plays in his church and releases albums regularly. Like Every Second A Fool Is Born, which can best be described as a big blues festival. Peterson's blues does not mourn, but celebrates life with the exuberance of gospel. This is accompanied by fiery boogies full of dexterous guitar solos while Peterson's voice harbors the screams of Otis Rush and Buddy Guy. It gets even more fun when his wife Tamara takes over the lead vocals in a voluminous and soulful way. An extrovert and downright exuberant blues CD. (MR)more
