The Landgraaf violinist Guido Dieteren started his career as concertmaster of the Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands. After that he toured the world for two and a half years as the first violinist in André Rieu's orchestra. Together with his brother Eric Dieteren he then developed the show entitled Guido. Guido's orchestra consists of a pop band, a choir and a symphony orchestra, which brings a
… sparkling show of symphonic music, pop, dance and film music combined with song and dance. The debut album Guido contains the music from the show: many own compositions and some arrangements. The repertoire varies from a moving violin romance to dazzling dance, from a silent film ballad to exciting symphonic rock. The soloists are besides Guido Dieteren on violin, tenor Pascal Pittie and soprano Wendy Kokkelkoren. Even without having seen the show, this album is worthwhile for fans of musicals, symphonic rock and crossover music. (SvdP)more
