The Italian singer Andrea Bocelli moves with great success in both classical and popular music. Amore is a CD filled with popular songs. For this, Bocelli and his producers David Foster and Humberto Gatica looked for well-known French, Spanish or Italian love songs from the 1920s to the 1980s. They chose classics such as Amapola, Besame Mucho, Les Feuilles Mortes (Autumn Leaves), Somos Novios (It's
… Impossible) and Can't Help Falling In Love. The songs were provided by the producers, who previously collaborated with Whitney Houston and Celine Dion, among others, with an easy listening / soft pop jacket that sometimes feels lavish. Guests on Amore include Kenny G, Christina Aguilera, Stevie Wonder, Chris Botti and on this Dutch version Marco Borsato. Because We Believe, the duet by Bocelli and Borsato, released as a single, marked a new milestone in Borsato's career: it became his ninth number-1 listing. (IV)more
