At the base of Dusminguiet are three young men from La Garriga, a small village near Barcelona. In 1995 Joan, Dani and Martí founded the band. Initially they played Mexican, Argentinean and Catalan dance music at folkloric parties in their area, but since the debut album Vafalungo (1998) they only play their own songs. Dusming something style of music, pachanga chonda, is a mixture of all kinds of
… rhythms and styles into a festive potpourri: Catalan pachanga (related to the rumba), cumbia, polka, raï, tex-mex, reggae, ska, funk and rock 'n roll. Dusminguiet makes a joyful journey of discovery through different worlds by singing in different languages and playing various instruments such as accordion, guitar, bass and various percussion instruments. After the successful album Postrof (2001) the third album is now out. Go (2003) is a very strong album, with influences from Greek rhythms, Eastern European gypsy music, ska and rock 'n roll. For fans of the music of Manu Chao, Macaco and Ojos de Brujos, this album is a must! (SvdP)more
