Success opens many doors. An album with a swing orchestra has long been an unattainable dream for pop singer Robbie Williams. Due to the immense popularity of the singer, the record company in England was willing to take a gamble. Anyone who has seen the concert at the Royal Albert Hall can only admire the way Williams performed. With his natural flair he came into his own in this Hollywood setting
… and also vocally he showed few stitches. It should now be clear to even the biggest skeptic that Robbie Williams is a showman of stature: a real star. That does not alter the fact that on purely musical grounds this album does not amount to much. The well-known material - many songs from 'The Rat Pack': Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin - has been interpreted much better for him by many. (MS)more
