After a number of Dutch and English-language albums, the Belgian singer Helmut Lotti began a musical journey of discovery in classical music in 1995. Helmut Lotti Goes Classic was the title of a daring project in which the singer recorded popular light classical works. It turned out to be a bull's eye. On the fourth in this series, which will also be the last, he sings classical themes from Beethoven,
… Mozart, Boccherini and Tchaikovsky, among others. He also performs evergreens such as Stand By Me, Greensleeves, Waltzing Mathilda and You'll Be My Love, written by himself. The CD was recorded live at St. Rombouts Cathedral in Mechelen, where it was accompanied by the Golden Symphonic Orchestra. (CK)more
