In the Netherlands, the Flemish singer Eva De Roovere broke through in 2007. After shows as support act for Ilse DeLange and performances with Paul de Leeuw and Giel Beelen, this album (already her fourth) surfaced in the Album Top 100. In Belgium they have known the singer for some time. There she sang from 1997 in the folk rock group Kadril. Over & Weer has become a varied CD. De Roovere's
… girlish voice thrives on the fresh pop of Orpheus but also in the intimate listening song Like In That Ene Liedje and the Beatleske hoempapop by Mis Je. De Roovere not only has her vocal cords, but also her heart in the right place. An extra song from this album can be downloaded from her website for a fee. The proceeds will go to charity in Senegal, Africa. (PdK)more
